Merit System

University of Karachi (UoK) offers two types of admission procedures.
  • Admissions require entrytests
  • Admissions based on academic score

Admissions Require Entrytest

Almost all professional degree courses require a pre entry test for the final evaluation of the merit. The merit system for such degree courses is a mix of academic score is past study work and the test result. (Interview performance some times also)

Merit Calculation and Minimum Requirement of Test Score

The merit in University of Karachi the no doubt, the highest one after IBA for Management courses. However; the merit vary considerably from course to course. For arts courses it is as much high as the score of 65%. The merit for professional degree remains above 70% aggregate of test result and marks in past classes.

Fall and Spring Merit Waiting Lists of Selected Candidates

Waiting List

Waiting list for selected candidates is displayed along with the first merit list. The test result is also included in the merit list.


University of Karachi offer one intake for most of the degree courses. For some undergrad courses it also offer 2nd intake.
